A YCN brief set by LEVC, The city of London has introduced regulations calling for all diesel taxis to be removed from the roads. LEVC needs to find an alternative use for their iconic, decomissioned black cabs.
Black cabs are an icon of London, seen on every street. But another icon on the streets is the homeless. London’s rough sleeping problem has, on some days, nearly 3,000 people sleeping on the street in a single night.
These decomissioned black cabs can be turned into temporary shelters for the homeless, with a safe, dry, warm place to sleep. A campaign to promote this to the public, and an app for those seeking shelter, push it into the real world and make it viable for LEVC to turn into a campaign.
